Language points Get the students to try to find out the words and expressions as quickly as possible in the related parts and let them learn some important new words and expressions by studying their contexts, clues and word-formation. 1. going through. 仔仔细细阅读或研究； 经受，经历，遭到； 通过，批准 I went through the students’ papers last night.仔细阅读了学生的作业 Their plans went through. 得到了批准 These countries have gone/been through too many wars.这些国家饱经战火。 The law has gone through Parliament. 议会已经通过了这项法案。 The experiment went through two stages.这个实验经历了两个阶段。 You really don’t know what we went through while working on this project. 你的确不知道我们搞这个项目吃了多少苦。 2. …she made her diary her best friend. “make + object+ object complement(n./ do sth./ adj./ p.p.)” What I had done made my father angry. We made Tom our monitor. My little brother was made to cry. The bus stopped to set down an old lady. 公共汽车停下来让一个老太太下车。 I'll set you down on the corner of your street.我在你说的那条街的拐角处停下来让你下车。 ★ set up v.设立,竖立,架起,升起,装配,创(纪录),提出,开业 ★ set off 出发,侧重于去某个地方 If you want to catch that train we'd better set off for the station immediately. 你要是想赶上那班火车，咱们就最好马上动身去火车站。 They've set off on a journey round the world. 他们已经开始环游世界. ★ set out v.出发, 启程，开始；装饰,陈列；测定；宣布；移植；陈述，展示 出发，开始，侧重于开始做某事，还有规划，展现的意思 They succeeded in what they set out to do. 他们打算做的事已经做成了. ★ set about:开始,着手，与set out意思相近，但set out后加不定式，即set out to do sth,而set about后加 ing形式，即set about doing sth. You must set about your work at once. 你必须立即开始工作。 Do you know how to set about going on this work? 你知道怎样着手进行这项工作吗？ 5 ★ be crazy about指"对...疯狂".着迷于；狂热爱好… She is crazy about dancing.她热忠于跳舞。 I am really crazy about Michael Jackson's rock'n'roll. 我对麦克杰克逊的摇滚爱的发狂 ★ deal with… 处理，对付，对待，涉及，论述 do with… 处理，处置，使用，利用；忍受 do with 常与连接代词 what 连用，而 deal with 常与连接副词 how 连用 Step3. Summary Have Ss. sum up the content they learned in this period. Step4.Homework Continue to read the text until they can recite it. Learn new words by heart. Finish exercises in learning about language and exercise book. |
