教学重点 Try to improve students ability of reading, listening and speaking.
Enable them to use the useful expressions.
 
教学难点 How to make them understand the listening materials and use the useful expressions to express their agreement and disagreement.

Step1. Revision
  Get students to review what they learned in the last period.
Step2. Reading.
Activity 1: Reading the letter.
Give students one minutes to finish reading the letter that Lisa wrote to Miss wang of radio for teenagers and answer the following questions:
  What trouble does Lisa write about in the letter?
  How does Lisa feel?
  And then ask students to try to guess what Miss Wang’s attitude will be? ( will she be for the friendship between Lisa and the boy or against? That is to say she will encourage Lisa to continue their friendship and ignore other students’ gossiping or will ask her to end up their friendship)
Step3. Listening
 Activity1: listening for exercise2.
Before listening to the tape, ask students to skimming the four sentences given in exercise2 and try to guess Miss Wang’s attitude towards Lisa’s problem and try to tell the words and their part of speech.
  Play the tape for them to listen to and finish exercise2.
  If necessary, play twice for them and then check their answers.
Activity2: listening for exercise3
  Tell students that when listening, they should try to grasp the general idea of this passage and should not pay too much attention to some words they can’t understand.
  And then ask them to read the questions of exercise3.
  Play the tape for them to listen to and then check their answers.
1.    What does Miss Wang say about their friendship? 
  She says that there is nothing wrong in Lisa making friends with a boy. She also think that it is possible for a boy and a girl to be just good friends.
  2. Why doesn’t she think that Lisa should end thri friendship?
  She thinks that Lisa would lose a good friend who helps her with her studies.
  3. How does she explain why Lisa’s classmates gossip about their friendship?
  She says that teenagers like to gossip and that perhaps they can’t understand Lisa’s friendship with this boy.
4.What is Miss Wang’s advice?
She asks Lisa to ignore her gossiping classmates.

  Give students a few minute to prepare for their report and then check them.
  After that give them a sample dialogue to study in order to make them clear how to discuss and how to express their ideas and make dialogue. Because this is a new type of task for them, I think this is necessary for them.
Step5. Language points:
1.       have trouble with sth.某人/事使人伤脑筋,苦恼; 跟某人闹别扭
have trouble/difficulty in doing sth.做某事有困难
eg. I have trouble in reading her handwriting/ learning English.
  I have trouble with my studies.我在学习上遇到了麻烦。
  The students had trouble with the police.学生们和警察之间发生了冲突。
2. get along/ on (well, nicely/ badly )with sth./ sb.某事进展(不)顺利(多用于进行时)/相处(不)好。 how 进行提问,代替well等词。
Eg. Is everything getting along/ on well? 一切进展顺利吗?
  How are you getting on with your English lesson?你的英语课学得怎么样?
  He is a person who is not easy to get along well with.他是一个不好相处的人
  The students in our class get along / on very well with each other….相处得都很融洽。
Step6. Summary and Homework.
1. Try to ask students to sum up the content they learned in this period
  2. Homework
   Learn new words by heart.
